Taking Some Time Just for Us

You all know I love to travel. And you know I love my wife. AND it was time to celebrate our ten-year anniversary. Was it going to be Paris or Canyon Ranch?

It sounds weird, doesn’t it? Paris (France, not Tennessee) or some ranch in Tucson, AZ.

We chose Arizona. Canyon Ranch in Tucson.

Canyon Ranch was started by Mel Zuckerman, who after his own success improving his health, was inspired to start a health resort. He and his wife Enid purchased 42 acres near Sabino Canyon, AZ. The old ranch buildings were in very bad condition. But rather than tear them down, potentially damaging the area’s energy, and scaring away the wildlife, he decided to rebuild. And he built something incredible

Canyon Ranch is an experience. It’s a high-end wellness destination. Every day, you can experience something new – a spiritual journey, a cooking class, rock climbing, tennis, cardio, yoga, and… my favorite, a massage. Yes, they have a very elegant spa. I loved it. I think Dana loved it as well.

It provided a tremendous opportunity for me to re-center.

One afternoon, after a wonderful massage, I was walking out of the building and stopped to take notice of the people working there. Every one of them was so energetic and positive. It was evident that they enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives. They were working with passion, focused on their passion.

I thought to myself, “I could just live here.” And why not? I have what it takes to make it happen. I have the power to manifest this in my life – don’t I? Isn’t that what is meant when we talk about manifestation, or the laws of attraction? It’s what I believe I saw both staff and guests doing at Canyon Ranch. They were turning their dreams into reality and taking proactive steps toward the things that they desire.

I’m making it sound simple; I know. Essentially, manifestation is bringing something tangible into your life through attraction and belief, i.e., if you think it, it will come. However, there is more to it than willpower and positive thinking. If you want to learn more, pick up a copy of The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne. It's an easy read.

Anyway, the entire experience started me thinking. I'm wondering what we can manifest. Stay tuned. I’m sure there will be more to share in the coming weeks.
